Guide to happiness. Peace, love & happiness.

Discover Secrets Which Will Guide You to Happiness by Wilma Watson

Deep down, I'm sure we all aspire to having a 'good' life or a 'happy' life.  But what equates to a happy life or a good life? Is it beauty, success and security?  Is it having a strong, healthy body? Is it having good fortune? Does it depend on the number of children and grandchildren one has? Can we attain it by living a satisfied and fulfilling life? Read on...

Living a happy or blessed life does not necessarily depend on what you do or have. Let me explain.

Being successful is good, but success does not equal purpose. You can reach all your goals and succeed in life and still feel something is missing inside. To truly live a blessed life or a happy life, one has to know and fulfill their God-given purpose in life. Only in God, our creator, can we discover the true meaning and purpose for life.

Without God, life makes no sense. God created you for a purpose. The Bible says God is love.  You matter to God. He wants to do you good irrespective of your circumstances, status, colour or race.

God wants to bless you and make you happy

We're all in the same boat, as the saying goes; we all need God to bless us and make us happy. The Bible says we have all fallen short of the mark. We are all missing the target of the best God has for us.

Creator God is a good God. He wants to enrich and bless your life. The Bible says, "He who puts his trust in the Lord shall be enriched and blessed." (Proverbs 28:25)

"I want to know what this trusting in Jesus is," a doctor asked his patient. "Doctor" replied the patient, "As you know I'm very ill.  I trust you to make me well. Likewise, you must trust Jesus who is the Great Physician to heal your soul."  The patient went on to explain the verse from the Bible, "Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him." (Psalm 32:2).  "How would you like to have EVERY sin you committed in the past removed?  God wants to bless you by removing ALL of your sins. To receive his forgiveness you need to trust him or have faith in him." The Doctor went away from the sick bed a changed and happy man.

When you choose to allow God to bless you by removing your sins, you become a child of God and receive his forgiveness, power and nature.  The benefits of your choice are that you have spiritual guidance along the way, spiritual armour for protection, spiritual authority and equipment to help you overcome obstacles in life.

The reason we don't enjoy all that God has for us is that at some point we hold back from God. In our E-book, Spirituality Made Simple you will discover how you can receive the good things God has for you and how to identify the things that hold us back from receiving these good things or blessings.

What do we mean when we sing songs like, 'Blessed be your Name' or 'Blessed be the Name of the Lord'? Or what did King David mean when he said in the Bible, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall be continually in my mouth"? (Psalms 34:1)

How do we bless God?  We bless God when we worship and praise him. We bless him when we do what he says in his Word and we bless him when we depend on him - demonstrating our friendship and trust by praying to him.

Jabez in the Bible prayed to God, "Oh that you would bless me" and the Bible goes on to say that God granted him his request. God longs for us to ask for his blessings, and he's blessed when we are grateful for the blessings we receive from him.

God wants you to bless others and make them happy

God wants you to be like a river and not a swamp! A swamp collects and retains water that comes into it. It becomes stagnant! A river, on the other hand, carries fresh, life-giving water because it is flowing. When we hoard and dam up the blessings of God in our lives, we are in danger of missing out on God's intended purpose and fulfillment for our lives.

Using another analogy of a farmer sowing and reaping a harvest, the Bible says, "He who sows generously in order that blessings may come to someone, will also reap generously and with blessings." (2 Corinthians 9:6)

Disembarking from the airplane a month ago after a long international flight, I was thinking, "There's no place like hom". Bill and I were anxious to meet our daughter, Leanne and grandchildren and head for home as quickly as possible. We were tired and somewhat irritated when we eventually entered the arrival area and no one was there to meet us.

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived.  Excuses followed and a suggestion that the children go to the toilet and we get a cup of coffee!  With a sense of relief, we headed for the car after another fifteen minutes.

Leanne opened the trunk and handed us a box wrapped in gold ribbon.  'Before we leave, I just want to give you a gift for supporting us", she said.  Having untied the ribbon and opened the box, I inquired "What is going on here?' as I sighted a set of car keys.  Leanne immediately gave us the instruction - "Press it" We pressed the remote control and an almost new silver Magna next to us grabbed our attention. "It's yours", she said.

Leanne's husband, Brent, appeared from the back of the car.  After both apologizing for being late, Brent explained, "I texted Leanne and asked her to stall you.  I flew to Sydney yesterday to pick up the car and have only just arrived after traveling all night (12 hours drive away)."  What a blessing! And what a surprise! We've been blessed, as we were planning on up-grading our old car.

We had helped Leanne and Brent renovate an investment property earlier in the year and according to them, this was their way of saying 'thank you' for being a blessing.

God is no respecter of persons. He wants to bless you too and make you happy, so that you can bless him and others and make them happy!
